Food – Northern California Style

I am currently in northern California (Lake Tahoe to be exact). Northern California, besides being home to some excellent vineyards/wineries, is agriculturally intensive, responsible for a large amount of the produce grown in the US.  On my to Lake Tahoe, I stopped in San Francisco – a foodie mecca!  And while SF is well known for its restaurants, the recipes associated with SF aren’t too shabby either.  In my next blog I will share recipes for two of SF’s most famous foods:  sourdough bread (which requires a starter and is no short term commitment) and cioppino, a fish soup similar to Manhattan clam chowder, i.e. tomato based.
